Facts pertaining to Alli diet pill intake!

Alli, known to be a weight loss drug consists of Xenical which is responsible for cutting extra fat in obese people. Alli, dubbed Orlistat got approved in the year 1999 as a prescription drug to treat severe obesity. It is one of the diet pills which is FDA approved and attempts to reduce weight by decreasing absorption of fat by the intestines.
Alli is mainly adopted by those people who want to reduce overweight. Being non-prescribed drug, its existence was initially resisted as many called it a massive mistake by the FDA and GlaxoSmithKline, who is the manufacture of this diet pill. Many researchers were of the opinion that Orlistat was not believed to offer health benefits. Their allegations were backed by experiences of some people who witnessed rapid weight regain after stop taking the pill.
In fact alli is one of the first FDA approved weight loss drug during OTC. According to doctors, alli is able to block 25% fat absorption if you take the pill with every meal. This blockage results in “treatment effects” means frequent visits to the restrooms. However alli is connected with several side effects. It has been evaluated that malabsorption of fat due to fat soluble Vitamins A,D,E &K, results in feces, diarrhea and frequent fecal urgency.
There is an enzyme called as Lipase found in the digestive tract which breaks down dietary fat into smaller components for storing energy. However alli works by making lipase disabled preventing the enzyme from breaking down the dietary fats. This undigested fat continues through the intestines and gets washed away through bowel movements.
Doctors advised consumers not to take alli diet pill if you recently had an organ transplant. This is because the pill can interfere with the medicines which are meant to prevent rejection of the transplant. Some of the other cases when alli intake in strictly prohibited includes:
• If you are using cyclosporine
• If you are not suffering from overweight and have normal weight
• If you have been suffering from absorbing food problems.
So this over-the-counter diet pill requires some caution and needs doctor’s consultation if you have problems related to gallbladder, kidney and pancreatitis. Advice of doctor is also needed if you are taking other weight loss pills or taking any medicine for diabetes or thyroid disease.
Alli die pill is not recommended for pregnant or breast-feeding females. Also children are not advisable to take alli weight loss pills.
